The “Big Build” event is being coordinated by recently retired Monsanto executive Ken Rinkenberger and Illinois State University professor Andrew Matthews. The two men have partnered with Bloomington’s Crosswinds Community Church to serve Ms. Yeakel.
Both Hands Foundation was founded in 2008 and has performed over 35 projects around the country so far. As the need for global orphan care and adoptive families continues to increase, the organization hopes to increase the number of projects every year. The project in Bloomington will hopefully lead to more projects locally as well.
The work on Ms. Yeakel’s home will start at 8 a.m. and is expected to be complete around 4 p.m. In addition to the work of the volunteers, local businesses have stepped forward to donate supplies and food for the event.
Individuals interested in future Both Hands projects in any capacity or in the work of Lifesong for Orphans are invited to email Andrew Matthews at andrew@lifesongfororphans.org.
